Homeschooling 101 & Resource Fair

H.E.A.T. is excited to announce our first ever Homeschooling 101 & Resource! Admission is $5 or we will be hosting our membership drive; for $20 become a H.E.A.T. member for the year and receive free admission to most events, a huge list of discounts, your laminated teacher ID card, and even a tote bag! 

 From 4-6pm we will have a come and go fair, where you can look at donated curriculums (to be given away at the end of the event), talk with local resources in the community, buy or sell used curriculum from other homeschool families.

There will be drawings for giveaways before the speaker so make sure your present for that! 

We will have an area for kids to play board games, talk, or just hang out. This will just be an open space for kids to hang out, not an organized/chaperoned event. 

There will also be local resources, curriculum writers, program directors, tutors, and more to learn about all the great resources in this community! We have invited all the local activities and resources to this event so we can move our Beginning Picnic to September when its not as hot. 

From 6-730pm we will have guest speaker, Crystal Wagner from Triumphant Learning talking to us about You CAN Homeschool, with Q&A afterwards for all. 

You CAN Homeschool!

Most parents have a LOT of questions about homeschooling. This workshop provides answers to questions about socialization, daily schedules, first steps to take, and more. You’ll learn what a homeschool day really looks like, how homeschooling benefits children of all academic abilities, the truth about socialization, the qualifications you need to homeschool, and the first steps you should take to get started homeschooling.

Tshirt fundraiser and Usborne Book drive going on as well to help out the H.E.A.T. and homeschool families in the area.
