PARK DAY EVERY FRIDAY

Home School Park Day is a great way for your students and pre-school children to make new friends and burn off that extra energy while moms get to know one another and encourage each other.  Park Day is not just for elementary students; teens are welcome as well.  Bring your lawn chairs, balls, sand toys, and snacks.  You may want to bring a change of clothes for the younger ones since kids often end up very sandy or dirty and even get wet in puddles!  Oh the fun they have at Park Day!  Come join us, won't you?

We meet every Friday, weather permitting.  During the school year, we meet at a new park each month.  Park Day starts at 1 p.m. and goes until the last family leaves!  In the summer months, we start at 9 a.m.

For this month's location, check out the Files section of the Main Yahoo Group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WFareahomeschoolers/) or contact the Park Day Coordinator:

We have Home School PE for all ages - including Zumba for moms - every Friday at the Bill Bartley Branch YMCA!  Go to the Sports Page for detail!
If you have students who are in grades PreK to 8th, don't forget about the Book Clubs, 4-H, Enrichment, etc!  We have lots going on for all ages!  Check out the Classes & Clubs page as well as the Enrichment page.
Did you know there are classes for homeschoolers offered at the Youth Center on Sheppard AFB?  Current classes included PE, Cooking, & Art.  For specifics on the classes, go to Classes & Clubs page.

Curriculum Share!  Thursday, April 22nd  6 p.m.

PK - High School
Lamar Baptist Church,  Activity Center

The curriculum share will be an opportunity for you to see all those textbooks and packaged curriculum you have been wondering about... and, you'll be able to speak with real moms who have used them! This is not a sale, it is simply a time to look and see materials before you go out and buy them. We will be needing moms to bring curriculum to show & tell others about. Please be thinking about how you can participate! More information from Ann Porter will soon follow.
Hank the Cowdog!

Being Head of Ranch Security is a tough job. And there's only one cowdog who can do it. Patrolling the perimeter, checking out trespassing vehicles, barking at the mailman and fighting coyotes. It's all in a day's work for Hank the Cowdog. He's tough, loyal, handsome, and he never takes trash off the cat! He's Hank the Cowdog.

A cowdog's life ain't easy. But Hank wouldn't have it any other way.

Join us for an evening of the same wholesome entertainment that families have enjoyed in more than six million books.  Since 1983, Hank the Cowdog by John Erickson has been the star of one of America’s most popular series of humor books and books-on-tape. Now, he is moving to the stage here in Wichita Falls, brought to life by the 4-H A.C.T. Club.

A.C.T. will perform two one-act plays on Thursday, April 15 at 7:30 p.m. on the campus of Wichita Christian Schools, located at 1615 Midwestern Parkway (the old McGaha building).

Admission is free.  Bring the whole family – the plays are short, the comedy is suitable for all ages, and intermission will give you wiggle time.

Official Hank merchandise (books, story tapes and CDs, T-shirts, Hank and Drover beanies, Hank and Drover puppets, posters, and a board game) will be available for purchase at below retail cost if your Hank fans don’t get enough of him in just one evening.

Wichita County's United Way participates in the free monthly book mailing to children ages 0-5. This is the Dolly Parton's Imagination Station program.

It is simple to register. Info can be found here:
